Hyperchromias – hyperpigmentations can be congenital or acquired. Congenital hyperchromias are part of diseases or syndromes. Acquired hyperchromias include:
Ephelides or freckles. They appear or are accentuated by the sun.
Lentigo, solar or senile lentigo.
Caused by sunlight, exacerbated by hormonal changes as occurs in pregnancy (chloasma), by taking certain medications or use of cosmetics. Affects the face.
Nevus or moles. They appear in any region, are darker and do not vary with the sun.
Hyperchromia due to sensitization. They are usually dermatitis due to the use of perfumes.
Hyperchromia due to medication.
